We ask that our volunteers participate on a regular basis. Tasks would vary depending on seasons. Below is a list of various tasks:
- Remove stools from kennels and yard.
- Hose down and sweep out kennels. Change bedding if necessary.
- Fill water buckets.
- Rake leaves and trim weeds around fence line if needed.
- In winter season, shovel snow for dog path in play yards.
- Once approved, sit and hand feed snacks to feral dogs.
- Once approved, sit in lounge area near dogs for feral dog visitation.
Feral dogs are extremely weary of new people, so all visits will be monitored until the volunteer has several visits over weeks and/or months, and is familiar with the feral dog and they are comfortable with you in their space. Having dog experience is highly recommended and a willingness to learn the feral dog world is necessary. If this feral dog volunteer work interests you, please fill out and submit the feral dog volunteer form below.
